Hampton Inn & Suites Milwaukee West

There are several good restaurants within a short walk, which made the location handy. The lobby and breakfast staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast had the usual Hampton mix of hot and cold choices. I especially like their oatmeal bar with toppings. I stay at Hilton properties often, and this Hampton Inn was in line with what I expect. The room was clean, the bathroom had what I needed, and the shower head was high enough for me at over six feet. Nice hotel.

It's 2 a.m. and the lamp posts outside are lighting up my room because the blackout curtains only cover part of the window, with sheer curtains over the rest. Why wouldn't they put blackout curtains across the whole window, especially with a lamp right beside the bed? Everything else is clean and comfortable, and the front desk management is nice. It's a decent hotel otherwise.

The breakfast is pretty good and I liked the pool, though there's no hot tub. The place is decent overall, but the rooms don't have microwaves even though they sell food you're meant to microwave. The bathroom doors are sliding doors with no locks.

George, the manager, was professional, helpful and appalled when I told him how the night staff had treated us. At check-in, that staff member was very rude, told us to hurry because he had things to do and wanted to smoke. We would have gone elsewhere if we could. Shout-out to George!
