Turtleback Farm Inn

The property was a highlight, with rolling hills, sheep you can pet, including "Chompers," chickens, and a peaceful pond. They provide boots for walking around, which helped keep our shoes clean. Our room was spacious and bright, with doors opening onto a private deck, and the bed was so comfortable it made relaxing irresistible. In the evenings, my partner and I played Scrabble by the wood fire, drank wine, and looked through photo albums of more than 25 years of memories made there. Bill and Susan, the owners, are incredibly warm and welcoming. They make a delicious breakfast, accommodate dietary restrictions, and have plenty of entertaining stories to share. This was by far our favorite place to stay on Orcas Island, and we hated the thought of leaving. We can't wait to return. We rented a car, which was waiting by the ferry when we arrived, and drove around the island. From the lookout at the top of Mt.Constitution, we saw the best view we've ever had of the San Juan Islands. On a clear day, you can even see as far as Vancouver. In town, there's a small Museum with fascinating Orcas Island history and plenty of restaurants to choose from. We had dinner at Ship Bay Restaurant and loved the sourdough bread and a fantastic salad. The trip was unforgettable, and we hope to visit again soon.

We loved the historical house, the clean, comfortable rooms, and the lovely food, with rolling pastureland all around. Hospitality was there from the friendly booking process through every detail of our stay. I'll be back!

Quiet pastureland stretches out below the Inn, with lambs and sheep frolicking beneath the windows during the day. The setting is peaceful, and it's a favorite vacation spot within easy reach of Seattle. Service feels personal and impeccable, and the made-to-order breakfasts every morning are hard to beat.

For our first anniversary, my wife and I found ourselves transported to the peace of the 1800s. Bill and Susan Fletcher have made a special place among the Orcas Island pastures. The inn feels so serene that time seems to pause and reminds me to slow down and take it all in. You can see the care and love they've put into this pristine farm bed and breakfast. Breakfast was superb, and the service felt personal and exceptional. I'm leaving tomorrow, and already thinking about coming back today.
