The fall colors made Vermont especially beautiful, though I think it's worth seeing in any season. I'd wanted to visit for two years, and my husband surprised me with a birthday trip to The Lodge Mount Snow. The view was gorgeous. We arrived late after traffic and about five hours of driving, so I called ahead. The person who answered was helpful and explained how to get in. At first I was worried when she said nobody would be at the front desk, but then she gave me the entry pin and said a key would be waiting there. Very convenient! Our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable for the two of us. The staff also left a birthday card with sweet little notes, which made the day more special. My only complaint: there was no hot water at night. When we checked in the morning, it had come back. It was a beautiful place to stay, and I'd definitely come back.

The noise was the biggest issue. The floors are extremely creaky, we could hear our neighbors talking and other activity nearby, and sounds from upstairs woke us. The room was generally clean, but not under the bed, where we found dust and dog hair and swept it ourselves. We had our hypoallergenic dog with us in a pet-friendly room, and that much hair and dust was affecting my allergies. The dirt parking lot isn't maintained and gets very icy. The hotel itself is nice, the staff are friendly, and the room had what we needed. If you're skiing, the spot is perfect, very close to Mount Snow.

The staff made a strong impression. They're professional and caring, and it's clear they want guests to enjoy their stay. I'd recommend this place for the team alone, even if the rooms were less nice or it sat farther from the mountain. The lodge and rooms are well above average for Dover, and this is one of my top two places after staying in many. Rooms are spacious, clean, and nice, though not exactly luxury, which makes sense for a mountain town. Breakfast has a nice spread, but can be harder to manage on a lower-carb diet. The location is fantastic, extremely close to the mountain. The only way to be closer is to stay in the base lodge.

The staff were very nice, and the place was very clean and quiet enough when I visited, with what seemed like few other guests. The breakfast could use improvement. The hotel is quite old, though the room had renovations like new flooring and painted walls, and the bathroom work was well done. It's a simple room with the basic things you need. The HVAC worked great. There was a smell, not too bad, which I think may just be a natural smell. Google marked it as four stars in 2022.12, but I'd give it three.

I've been here a couple of times and think it's a great deal. Breakfast is included and good, and the staff were very friendly, which surprised me given the attitudes elsewhere in town. It's a no-frills place with plenty of character, very close to Mt Snow. The bar and poolroom have a cool layout, a big fireplace, and nice views. I'd suggest choosing a room above ground level. The one I had on the lower floor near the side exit smelled a bit musty, and there was some kind of ongoing water leak in the hallway.
