The building was brand new, and the room was fairly clean, but several things were frustrating. The toilet paper dispenser was broken and hadn't been fixed before we arrived. The towel rack came apart as soon as we put a towel on it, and there was garbage piled on the sidewalk by the side entrance. We also found only two sheets on the bed, no comforter or blanket. One was black and just as thin and see-through as the white one, so we spent the night under sheets. Bring your own blanket, since none was provided. There was only one nightstand, on one side of the bed. When I asked, the front desk said that's the standard policy across their hotels. With phones and keys to put somewhere, it makes no sense when two people share a bed.

I've stayed at the West Jordan location for over 3 months and paid over $10,000, but the way they've treated me has left me feeling unwelcome. This is supposed to be a hotel for longer stays, yet communication and basic kindness have been lacking. I'd honestly recommend a Motel 6 instead. They charge me a $45 late fee if I pay after 11 a.m., even though late checkout isn't until 12. My room has never been cleaned, not once, despite the expectation that it be cleaned every 14 days. That schedule already feels inadequate, and they don't even meet it. Getting clean towels or linens is humiliating. You're required to take the used items down to the front desk for staff to inspect before they'll give you replacements. When my towels got dingy, they tried to charge me before washing them to see if the marks came out. I took them back, washed them myself, and returned for another inspection. They still rejected one towel because it wasn't white enough. Hotels and hospitals use white linens so they can be bleached, so this process felt wrong and embarrassing in front of other people. There was also a problem with the other guest staying with me. He was locked out of our room and treated poorly. After a heated discussion with a staff member, he was told we had an hour to get our belongings and leave. I was out of town, but contacted the hotel and agreed to the hour, though I was shocked by how we were being treated after months there. Then the police called to ask if I was off the property, even though the hour hadn't passed and things had calmed down. The police weren't needed. The whole situation came from staff failing to communicate important information. Liveaway, do better. This isn't hospitality.

I had to change my review after my latest visit. There was dried vomit inside and outside the bathroom trash can, which didn't even have a liner. One wipe across the tub left the sanitizing wipe filthy. I also found oil stains all over one bedspread, a fast food cup in the dishwasher, and crumbs on a kitchen shelf. I won't be coming back. On an earlier stay, the rooms were beautiful and clean, and the gym was spotless and adequate. I would've given five stars if the dishwasher had worked or they'd offered to move me to a room with one that did.

The staff were generally good, but the room cleaning raised questions. A dirty towel was left in the microwave, and there were urine stains under the toilet lid. Maybe housekeeping is short staffed, or perhaps nobody checks the rooms after they're supposedly cleaned. I like having coffee in my pajamas when I wake up, so the lack of an in-room coffee maker was a real nuisance. There's a machine in the lobby, but the coffee wasn't good. There weren't any paper towels or dishes in the room either. The cheap blinds barely darken the room. At night the parking lot lights brighten the whole space, and sunrise will wake you up. This could work well for longer term work stays, but they need to make some changes.
