Hotel Viata

The beds were really firm and not comfortable, which was the biggest downside. Also, there’s nothing within walking distance except the Apple Computer offices that share the parking lot. The restaurant was okay but the food wasn’t special. They had four or five regional craft beers, though none on tap. Still, it’s a nice place for a couple of days away. The pool bar is especially laid-back and fun for a summer visit. Rooms are nice, with distinctive decor and a cool feel. Service was good and on point. Parking is free in a covered garage, and the room came with a complimentary bottle of wine, bottled water, a mini fridge, and a microwave.

Our only complaint is that the stay felt much too short. We’re already looking forward to coming back over Thanksgiving and Christmas break. Hotel Viata felt like an enchanted castle, and it’s easy to see why people would want to live somewhere so beautiful and unforgettable. The pool maintenance crew and the other employees setting up the pool area clearly took pride in their work and did their best to accommodate guests. Housekeeping also went above and beyond to keep things clean and orderly, and made us feel like family. The restaurant staff were welcoming and engaging at breakfast, with such warm service that it almost seemed like they knew what we were going to order. They were honest and clearly cared about their work, too. Cody at the bar had a great attitude, stayed organized, and knew his stuff. He brought such positive energy. Congratulations on the upcoming wedding, Cody. He’s going to make a great husband and an awesome father. We loved practically everything about the hotel. Best hotel experience ever!

I visited for a Yelp Elite event and didn’t stay overnight, but I really enjoyed the hotel and its scenery. The Hotel Viata entrance is small and scenic, and the hilltop location gives you a lovely view. It was my first time in West Lake Hills, and I found the area really lovely. The bar and restaurant have a cute Italian-style theme and an intimate feel. There was plenty of seating on the outdoor patio, along with a nice fireplace.

The room service food arrived quickly and hot, and it was gourmet. The steaks were especially good, on par with a high-tier restaurant. My room was comfortable and fantastic, with a stunning view of Austin’s very green landscape. The staff were genuinely kind and welcoming, and the place itself is beautiful. I was busy for much of my stay and didn’t use many facilities, though there’s a large selection of amenities I’d like to try next time. I’ll definitely return to enjoy the spa offerings.
