There’s a restaurant in the shared hotel next door that offers room service here, and you can charge dinner or drinks to your room. It has a pleasant bar and lounge, though cocktails are very pricey, $25 for an Old Fashioned with Michters Bourbon. The hotel is in a convenient part of Arlington, under 10 minutes from the mall and about 20 minutes from downtown DC, with plenty of food nearby. Our room was spacious and clean, and there’s a gym and laundry room but no pool. Parking on site costs a lot, though that’s normal for a big city, and valet is available for a little extra. Breakfast was the usual Residence Inn fare, around 6 to 9:30.

Ramon at the front desk made our arrival feel completely different. We were exhausted, and his warm, professional welcome lifted our spirits and set the tone for the stay. Breakfast was amazing, and the bar was excellent. We also had a fantastic view of the airport and loved seeing planes take off. Highly recommend!

The rooms felt cramped and claustrophobic, and clutter built up easily. The air was so dry and dusty that it made my mother and me sick. The room smelled like smoke after the smoke detector went off and was removed, but never put back. The breakfast was awful, with slimy, undercooked eggs and sausage. I tried making food in the aluminum pans, but they burned black and ruined it. I later found out there were other pans, but ours weren’t replaced. A Gatorade cost $6, too.

The rooms were roomy and comfortable, and the service was great. DCA is very close, and there’s a free shuttle. I think they can also take you to the nearby subway stop. I got an early check-in with my Bonvoy Status, and the free breakfast was a definite plus.

I’ve stayed at hundreds of hotels over the years, and this was the best customer service I’ve had. The whole staff went out of their way to fit my work team in at short notice and quickly sorted out an emergency involving a lost item. Everyone was professional and welcoming. Ramon in particular was a pleasure to work with and talk to each day. I’ll definitely stay here next time.
