Radisson Hotel West Memphis

The hotel provided complimentary shuttles to the casino next door, and free rides to Memphis sights like Beale Street and the Memphis Riverfront Boardwalk. It’s right off Interstate 40. The amenities were very good, with complimentary breakfast each day and Blane’s restaurant on site, where the food was exceptionally good. Our rooms were very clean and comfortable.

The front desk service was nice, but the rest of the stay was awful. This place is only five years old and already feels like a dump. The owners, Yogi Swami Corp, clearly don’t know how to staff or run a clean, honest hotel. The beds were the worst, cheap boxspring motel beds, and every wall had marks or scuffs. The room was 77° when I came in, and the AC units won’t go below 66°, so I’m sweating in bed as I write this. The first room they offered smelled funky because its AC was broken. In my second room, the toilet was oddly caulked to the tile, with brown caulk covered in fecal matter and gunk. The bathroom vent fan looked like it hadn’t been cleaned since the place opened during COVID. The cleanliness and accommodations were truly unacceptable by modern standards. I hope I won’t have to fight to get my incidental deposit refunded, but I’ll likely file a complaint with BBB regardless. My family used to be in the hotel business, and my expectations for hospitality are normal.

The room was clean and comfortable, and we were happy with how we were treated. The dining hall is spacious, and though the gym is small, it does the job. The location was especially convenient, close to the pyramid and Highway 40, with a hotel shuttle and just a 20-minute drive from OKC.

The bed was rock hard, and when I asked at the front desk, I was told they’re all pretty hard. If you have back problems, you might want to bring something to soften it. Still, I really liked the place. There’s plenty of parking, nobody bothered me, and the room and bathroom were very clean. The staff were super sweet from the moment I walked in, and the bar and restaurant just to the right of the entrance looked clean too. Breakfast was okay, though it was the same each day: eggs, sausage links, potato, Strunks, gravy, cereal, and pastries.
