The room itself was clean and comfortable, but I didn't feel especially welcome and wouldn't stay again. The window or its unit leaked badly and soaked the things I had placed on top. The microwave plate was far too big and made a loud noise, and there were gnats in the ice, so check it. I couldn't find vending machines; it looked like they'd been removed from beside the ice machine. There was no warning on my company's app or Hilton's website that breakfast was unavailable. At check-in I was told renovations meant to-go bags instead. Breakfast is my main reason for booking work trips, and the bags had two tiny mandarins, a small water bottle, and a waffle. I had told front desk staff through the Hilton app that I had a service pet, yet after seven days they charged me a $50 pet fee. I had also said at check-in that incidentals should go on my personal card, but they charged my company's card. Amex contacted the hotel to request a refund to that card and a charge to my personal one. Why charge a fee for a service animal at all? Communication needs to improve.

The room was comfortable and clean, which impressed me since I'm usually a tough hotel critic. I was here for one night on a work trip because a coworker lives nearby, and we drove downtown together. It took about 25 minutes in rush hour via Glenwood Bridge and 2nd Ave. The two women at the front desk were pleasant and helpful. I'd stay again.

The breakfast and coffee area was clean and well stocked, and the front desk staff were welcoming and seemed to notice Hilton Honors guests. The Hampton Inn looks fine overall. It could use some updates, but most of it is in good shape.

The free breakfast had a good mix of hot and cold food, with lots of coffee choices. The hotel was very clean and the bed was comfortable. I had a very good stay and would definitely return.

I've stayed here many times when visiting the area, and the location has always suited my plans. I usually feel safe, and the front desk is helpful and pleasant. Breakfast is great. On this one-night visit, renovations were underway but didn't disrupt me, and the workers were considerate. The room was clean and the hotel well kept, though the TV remote was pretty yucky. The bigger issue was how outdated the room felt for today's devices: there were no USB chargers and only one free outlet for two phones, a smartwatch, and a tablet, since the others were being used by the TV and lamps. There was just one nightstand, and the bathroom had no disposable cups for brushing teeth or taking medicine.
