Wingate by Wyndham West Monroe

The faucet spout was just lying in the bathtub, and water was leaking through the wall. When I reported it, the front desk said there were no other rooms. I asked the woman to cancel tomorrow's stay, but she canceled two nights while she was on the phone and apparently hadn't heard me. I corrected her and said I meant tomorrow only. She entered my room again before charging my card without permission. I didn't make the mistake she did. Are they just taking money from guests? Go to another hotel where the bathrooms work and they don't take your money.

We came along because the rest of our group had already booked here, and we did at least get a decent night's sleep. The bed linens seemed clean, and the staff seemed nice enough in our brief interaction. Still, the property is dated and falling apart, with years of poor upkeep. The bathroom was dirty, the TV remote had its batteries taped in, and the old chair was stained. The lobby looked just as dated, with ceiling tiles missing, and the bathroom stalls were out of order or wouldn't lock. Wyndham needs to give the place a lot of TLC.

I wouldn't stay here again. The room was in awful shape: stained carpet and curtains, trash left on the floor, and a filthy bathroom. The door was gray with grime, the toilet and sink were dirty, and someone had left a plunger behind. We didn't want to use the sink or shower, so we brushed our teeth with bottled water. I wasn't expecting anything special for one night, but $145 felt like robbery for a room like that. I filled out the survey, and a representative texted to ask for details. I explained and tried sending photos, but they said they weren't receiving them. When I asked for an email address, they said they had limited access and couldn't access the emails. It's frustrating to be asked for specific feedback and then not be given a better way to send photo proof.

Belinda at the front desk was very nice, I believe that was her name. The room wasn't good, though. It was dated, with rust all over the shower and the rest of the bathroom, including the toilet. There was no hair dryer because it had been ripped off the wall. The bed was comfortable, but the price wasn't justified, and breakfast was bad.
