Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott West Palm Beach

This was a very pricey average room, and it was definitely not mobility accessible. There were no toilet grab bars and only one 12-inch bar in a step-in shower that wasn’t wheelchair accessible. The room was too small to maneuver a wheelchair or scooter. I’d booked a week ahead and confirmed by phone specifically that I needed an accessible room. When I asked the front desk, they politely said they might have one the next day if we wanted to move.

The front desk staff were pleasant, but after several conversations they didn’t seem able to change anything. I expected basic service and got much less. Over four nights, housekeeping missed something every day. They didn’t come into the room on the first day, never refreshed the coffee pods, and left fewer than four towels for our party of four. Towels from the front desk were gone the next day, leaving us with two again. I also had to ask the desk for toilet paper because the empty roll wasn’t replaced. The pillows were lousy, and the housekeeping manager was rude.

For a seven-night business trip, this was a great stay. My room had plenty of space and was very clean. Housekeeping refreshed it well each day, and the gym and shared spaces were in great shape. The staff were kind and helpful throughout. I’d gladly come back.

I had prepaid the reservation months earlier, yet after a long international flight I arrived around 10 PM and was told there was no room and nowhere for me to sleep. Staff told me to contact Expedia to sort it out, even though I’d traveled all day and it was already late. After I firmly insisted for about 30 minutes, a room suddenly became available. The receptionist said casually that “these things happen.” There was no apology, accountability, or effort to make things right. Overbooking or operating errors aren’t the guest’s responsibility, especially when the stay was paid for months ahead. A hotel’s basic job is to provide the room reserved and paid for, and failing at that destroyed my trust. I can’t recommend this hotel.
