Rodeway Inn West Palm Beach Airport (ex. Stay Inn West Palm Beach)

The rating had me expecting less, but the place was a pleasant surprise. I stayed two nights without any problems. Everything was well looked after, the room was very clean, and the sheets smelled fresh. A good choice if you care about comfort and cleanliness. There's also a security guard in the parking lot at night.

The location is convenient, near both the airport and downtown, and parking is great. Breakfast comes with the stay and was okay. The rooms are somewhat dated, and the WiFi drops out every two minutes. The building blocks the sun over the pool for much of the time, and it's expensive for what you get.

My room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and there were plenty of towels. I have asthma, so in an older Florida hotel I'm always concerned about mold or mildew, but I saw no sign of either. My lungs are happy this morning. Check-in was easy, the instructions to find my room were clear, and the staff were kind. One thing to know is that this is a motel, so you don't have indoor access to the rooms or elevators. After a long day, I was also hoping for an easy restaurant or bar option nearby. The front desk arranged an airport shuttle, but I wasn't told about the $12 charge. I didn't mind paying, though the ride was only five minutes across the street. I thought the website said the shuttle was free, so I felt misled, but maybe I read it wrong. Mentioning it for others.

We booked through priceline and found crumbs and an open bottle of fingernail polish on top of the mattress when we checked in and looked it over for cleanliness and bed bugs. It was late and we had two small children with us, so we asked to move rooms. They said no. We went to the desk, canceled, and found another hotel ten minutes away. They wouldn't refund us there and told us to call Monday. We called three days before getting the manager, who then said they couldn't refund us either. I won't stay at Quality Inn again. The ownership is disgusting for keeping our money over a mess they made. The room wasn't clean, and they're refusing a refund because we checked in, even though rooms should be clean. Outside, two police cars were dealing with someone a couple of rooms down while we loaded our things. I'll gladly remove this review if they return my money. I'm also sending the mattress pictures to the local news station.
