Red Roof Inn West Point

For $67, we got a clean smoking room, a comfy bed, and a quiet stay. The staff were friendly, and there were no bugs. Can't beat it.

I tried switching rooms twice, then gave up on finding somewhere clean and quiet for the night. My room was nasty: stained bed covers and towels, black mold in the bathroom, and bugs crawling around. There wasn't hot water to wash my hands, and traffic from the nearby interstate was loud inside the room.

The front desk was friendly, and seeing the room ahead of time, I found it a little nicer than I'd expected. I did spot a few hairs and asked for fresh sheets. I was glad it had hard floors instead of carpet. During the big southern snowstorm, it was a welcome refuge from the icy, slick roads. Loves travel stop across the road came in handy too. I'd rate it as a low-budget motel, not a hotel.

We booked two nights but only lasted about 45 minutes in the room. It was filthy, the mattress was brown, and the comforter had cigarette stains even though we'd requested a non-smoking room. Around midnight, several people were hanging out loudly in the parking lot, and we couldn't sleep. The property manager won't refund us. It was the worst hotel experience we've ever had. Never again.
