The room was dim even with its two lamps and entry light, and the TV was so blurry you couldn't read anything. The bathroom outlet made my straightener smell like it was on fire, and the toilet kept running. At least the bed was clean, and housekeeping changed the sheets every day. Getting in was a hassle too: the key card often took 30 seconds to a minute before the sensor unlocked the door. We waited at least five minutes for someone to come to the desk when we first arrived. The woman who showed up was polite, but that was a long wait with our rambunctious five-year-old. There was only one worker in the lobby when we passed through several times. The hallway felt humid and smelled bad, and almost all the gym machines were broken. I should've crossed the street and stayed at the Hampton Inn.

The room felt damp, and the bathroom fixtures showed corrosion from the moisture. Still, the linens and towels were spotless, the beds were clean, and the staff were wonderful. I'd stay again with a dehumidifier. Starkville is a quick 20-mile trip, handy for Bulldog fans, parents, and game-day rivals.

The rooms were clean and the staff were great during our two-night football-game stay. The place was good otherwise, but don't count on the continental breakfast.

Breakfast had nothing to offer, and the rooms smelled bad. We found roaches. When I told the young woman at the front desk, she acted nonchalant and switched our room without apologizing. The new room wasn't much better. She should've refunded us or at least reduced the price.
