The rooftop bar was a highlight, with Hudson views, different places to sit, fire pits, and a DJ during our visit. The hotel also has an extra cost buffet breakfast with hot and cold choices, complimentary parking, and valet service. We had a spacious room with a separate sitting area and mini-fridge, and got a welcome bag with earplugs. Everything was very clean, and check-in and checkout were easy. There are several restaurants within walking distance, and the grounds are beautiful. We stayed one night for a wedding in West Point. The historic hotel has lovely Hudson views and military photos throughout. Note that touring West Point requires state identification, and you may need extra clearance at the visitor’s center.

The Thayer is a lovely option for an Army football game or just a night away. It’s on the grounds of West Point, with well-appointed rooms and both a nice restaurant and a more casual bar and restaurant. In warmer weather, the rooftop Zulu Time bar is a great time.

The rooms are pretty plain, but the friendly team really went out of its way to make our stay pleasant. The fireplace in the lobby makes it a beautiful space, and at holiday time it’s a nice place to stop by and say hello to Santa.

We couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful wedding weekend at The Thayer. The hotel and grounds are spectacular, and our photos look like they were taken in another country. Heather, our venue coordinator, was great, and Talia, who coordinated the wedding weekend, was exceptional. Their careful organization and the attentive staff made the whole event wonderful.

I’ve held a business event here two years in a row, and the service has been great each time. The place is beautiful and comfortable, my guests enjoyed staying here, and the meeting rooms and dining choices are top tier.
