The room itself was spacious and nice, and we were upgraded to a King Suite. The attendant who checked us in was incredibly kind and, at 1 in the morning, gave us several great recommendations. My wife and I were in town from Denver for a quick anniversary weekend in SLC, flying in late and staying two nights. The AC unit under the window was so loud that we stopped using it for the rest of the say. The room got cold, so I used the spare bedding from the closet. I woke up the first morning with full-blown PINKEYE, not just a mildly sore red eye. I raised it with the front desk before heading out, and they said they’d look into it. I slept sitting upright that night because I didn’t want to infect my other eye. At checkout I mentioned it again to a different attendant, got the same response, and they seemed dismissive. That really surprised me. I’m not trying to trash the hotel, which was actually quite nice, but the illness affected our vacation. I’m taking a day off work because I can’t host meetings with half my face swollen and an eyepatch. Pinkeye in a hotel seems like something to take seriously, especially when cleanliness matters so much. If this snafoo hadn’t happened, we probably would’ve come back a few times a year, since the price was very reasonable for such a nice location. The first photo was from the morning after check-in, and the second 2 were taken on checkout day.
Giovanni from housekeeping and Jeannie at the front desk made this stay feel personal. Giovanni was thoughtful and kind, and it was clear he takes pride in his work. Jeannie was just as helpful, welcoming, and professional, from check-in through every interaction. The whole team showed real care. The property was spotless, comfortable, and well maintained, and the room and atmosphere made it easy to unwind after long travel days. That level of hospitality is rare. We’ll definitely return, and I highly recommend Fairfield Inn & Suites Salt Lake City Southwest to anyone staying around Salt Lake City.
I’d pick this Fairfield over the other nearby hotels. The room was spacious, comfortable, clean, and attractive, and the front desk service was decent. My room’s A/C-heater was virtually noiseless, and the bed seemed better than what many other reviews described. It’s a new, quiet property in a prime spot, with easy access to pretty much anything you might need.
I’ve been here twice in the past month or so. The workout room and breakfast have both been great. Tricia at the front desk is especially personable, friendly, and customer focused. She’s a great representative for Marriott, and they’re lucky to have her there.
Being between Walmart and Target made it easy to walk almost everywhere, and the location is close to an amazing number of restaurants, with every kind of food and price you could want. Local delivery options are great too. The parking lot was huge and felt safe, and the views were great, though SLC doesn’t really have a bad view. My room was okay, but the AC was VERY loud. I was there for a while and didn’t use housekeeping service, though I could restock everything from the housekeeping staff when they were on the floor each day. The lobby was clean, breakfast was meh, and the coffee kept running out. Do yourself a favor and walk down to Beans n Brew for coffee. The staff were VERY kind and friendly. I’d recommend the hotel.
