SpringHill Suites by Marriott Salt Lake City West Valley

I was in town for business and booked the Springhill Suites for 4 days. After a 15-hour flight and layover, I got to my room and found someone outside with a black truck, camera, and speaker blasting music. When I called the front desk to ask how long it would go on, they laughed a little and said he was making tic toc videos and it shouldn’t last long. The two young ladies at the desk seemed clueless, like placeholders for the manager. Most of my questions got “I don’t know,” “I’m not sure,” or “I can let the manager know.” I asked the manager in person for another room on the other side of the hotel and what they were doing about the noise. They said they’d contacted security and would call if they could move me. They never called. The music eventually stopped, so I let it go. There was trash outside the elevator, and two treadmills in the gym were broken. My room wasn’t too bad, but the AC was louder than usual. The manager seemed not to care, the staff didn’t know much, and customer service was nonexistent. Calling the desk was useless because nobody answered, and the front desk staff were rarely visible. The kitchen staff were good once I found someone to help. After 4 days, they charged me for room incidentals 2 hours before I was leaving. I went downstairs to ask why, and again the desk person said they didn’t know, adding that the manager would be there around 1200hrs to 1300hrs. While I waited in the lobby for my UBER for 30 minutes, I noticed the two young ladies gave people entering and leaving different levels of energy and customer service depending on their hues. The breakfast wasn’t good either. A very unpleasant stay, and my worst hotel stay in quite a while. Maybe writing this won’t make a difference, but I hope it saves someone else from a miserable stay.
