Staybridge Suites Salt Lake-West Valley City by IHG

I’ve stayed here a couple of times with my family, and the indoor pool is awesome. The hotel is quiet and clean, and it’s one of the best around here. The breakfast food was fresh and good, and it’s excellent, though the two cooks stand and watch everyone take food, which felt kind of weird. I’ve had both a 1-bedroom and a 2-bedroom suite. The bedrooms are nice sized and more modern than at other nearby hotels. The beds are decent, but the pillows could use an update. Bathrooms were nice and clean. The suites’ living rooms are another story, they’re small, the furniture feels cheap, and you feel cramped, though the couches do have sofa beds. The kitchen is semi-modern and has what you need, including a fridge, stove, dishwasher, microwave, silverware, and nice dishes, but everything was dusty. It looked like the cleaning crew skipped dusting the whole kitchen.

The breakfast servers were friendly and super efficient, and the bed and bathrooms were spotless. I enjoy staying at The Staybridge as my home away from home, and this was a one-night weekend visit. It’s handy for the airport and stores, but the highway is much too close and the traffic was noisy. The hotel seems due for an update, you can smell it and see wear and tear in the rooms.

I was pleasantly surprised by the suite. It had plenty of space, was clean, and came well stocked with complimentary tea, coffee, Tupperware, and utensils. The housekeeping staff were especially friendly, and the rest of the staff were very nice too. Free washers and dryers were great, and the room was moderately quiet. The furniture looked a little dated, and the hallways sometimes smelled pungent, though neither really affected my stay. Being near the highway means you can hear quite a lot of cars, so keep that in mind. I’d give Staybridge Suites a 3.5⭐️ for what it is.

The hotel was well cared for, from the lobby and hallways to the rooms, though there were a few flaws. The wall thermostat didn’t work, and the location seemed a little sketchy at nite, but we had no issues. Breaky was as expected, and it was nice to have actual plates and silverware again. Service was the problem for me. The desk staff were serviceable but not much more, which left a deflated impression, especially checking in at nite.
