We won’t be back. On Thursday, the hotel restaurant wouldn’t let us have breakfast because of our service dog, so they lost our business for all four breakfasts. When I brought this up to reception, they asked why I had a service dog. Owners, please teach the restaurant staff that service animals must be allowed in public areas under the laws protecting people with disabilities in Massachusetts, including the ADA, even where pets aren’t allowed. Staff were grumpy and unfriendly, as if they were angry to be working there. No hello, nothing. Management also didn’t follow the posted policy on kids running. A family upstairs had children running from 5pm until 11pm. We called the front desk and asked if they could walk instead, but nothing was done, and our ceiling shook until 11pm despite signs saying families would be told to leave if their kids ran. Around 7pm we’d had enough and asked for a refund for our last night so we could go home. Reception said the people above us would have to leave. Yeah right. I think the stomping stopped after 11:30pm. On day two we asked for extra towels, since there’s no daily housekeeping, but none arrived. We found a cart in the hallway on day three and helped ourselves. We’re not people who leave bad reviews all the time, but we really didn’t enjoy this stay.

The pool sounded like a nice feature, and the room was clean with okay comfort, but it was noisy enough that we could hear more than one TV. The bathroom was clean but old. For the price, I expected more. There was no breakfast, just an expensive breakfast diner. One coffee and one tea cost $8.5, and neither was even tall.

The hotel looked much better in the pictures than it did in person. I was surprised by how disappointing the stay was after reading the reviews. The front desk person was unfriendly and seemed to have no concern for us as people. The restaurant mentioned in the literature was closed until the day I left. There was a pool, which looked okay, but the rooms were dingy and needed a paint job. The bed was good, but the views were poor. I also didn’t appreciate being charged a $200 deposit for a two-day stay.

The pool is still the best part, but the place has really gone downhill since my earlier visits without problems. The second-floor decks are old and wobbly, only one ice maker on the property works, and the AC filters were black. The rooms smelled musty too. Time for an upgrade!
