Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Mt. Holly by IHG

At the Holiday Inn Express and Suites in Westampton, New Jersey, at 18 Western Drive, I saw a cleaning staff member use the same rag on the toilet and then the sink without changing it. I’d been distracted by my phone and was shocked to see it. I stopped her and asked if I’d just seen her clean the toilet with that rag. She looked confused and said she didn’t understand. My sister came in to clarify, and the maid apologized and said she’d clean it again. The maids also use dirty towels to clean the tub and floors. When I told the front desk, she said maybe the maid forgot and promised to speak with management. I said this made me think it happens daily at the hotel. It was upsetting. Everyone, please be careful. SMH.

This was my second stay, and somehow something has gone wrong both times. Last time the AC was out and the pool was closed. This visit the TV didn't work, and breakfast was already gone by 9:20 even though it was supposed to run until 10. The cook was busy entertaining the kids so they could eat, then told me there'd be no food after 9:30. I'm done with this place. I won't come back.

The room was clean and the staff were great, but the manager's behavior was awful. I had extended my stay the night before, and the desk staff told me it was taken care of. The next morning, around 10:30, the manager came banging on my door and spoke to me rudely. I eventually figured she was upset because my card had been declined, but she hadn't called either the room phone or my personal phone to tell me. I would've come down and sorted it out. It seems the hotel staff didn't know how to properly extend a booking made through Expedia. She was disrespectful and unprofessional, and needs more training. I stayed the extra night anyway and wasn't going to let one bad apple spoil my trip.

The only real problem during my weekend stay was the breakfast attendant, whose name started with J. She seemed so drunk I worried she might hurt herself, and the service from her was terrible. Guests shouldn't have to deal with someone working under the influence. The rest of the place was clean, housekeeping was great, and the employees were friendly. The rooms have been newly remodeled, and Wendy at the front desk on Saturday was phenomenal.
