The water at Holiday Inn Express was dirty, rusty, and brown, so I couldn't shower or brush my teeth. I repeatedly asked General Manager Elizabeth Diaz to contact me, but she refused. I then asked IHG Customer Relations for a refund. Senior Case Manager Denver replied, “I am sorry to hear about the problems you had during your stay. What you described isn’t what we want for any guest, and it is important the hotel take steps to prevent this from happening again. We have noted your complaints and shared it with the hotel management for training purposes. Thanks for taking time to share with us.” Denver also said, “I'm sorry that a refund cannot be warranted as the stay was completed. I totally respect your decision of not taking points in lieu of the refund.” IHG takes no responsibility for poor service at any level. I won't stay at another IHG Hotel. The staff are very friendly, and there's plenty of tractor trailer parking. Breakfast is good for a hotel breakfast. There aren't many places to eat nearby, and no attractions around unless you're willing to drive 20-30 minutes.

We arrived late at night with a reservation, and I urgently needed a restroom before checking in. I told the associate at the front desk, who let me go toward the restrooms, but they were locked. Then I was told I had to check in before using them. When I pushed back, the associate said only management could unlock them. Either I was treated poorly and lied to, or management really needs to rethink how this is handled.

Holiday Inn is the nicest hotel I've seen around here. It's clean and comfortable, right by I-5, and worked perfectly for our one-night road trip stop. Highly recommend if you're passing through.

Our first room smelled HORRIBLE, like a health hazard. The lady at the front desk was nice and moved us, and thankfully the next room was fine. I also spoke with a guy in the elevator whose wife and he had to move rooms too. The hotel and room quality were decent, but that smell was bad enough that we had to switch rooms and nearly changed hotels.
