COHO Inn & Motor Lodge

COHO feels cozy and a little off the beaten path, with no frills in a good way. Though with Malin + Goetz botanical toiletries and a home-cooked breakfast each morning, maybe “no frills” isn't quite right. Breakfast was the highlight: yogurt, cereal, pastries, then freshly cooked scrambled eggs and local bacon one morning, homemade pancakes and bacon the next. The coffee was incredible, and chatting with the owners was just as nice. I enjoyed hearing about the area, the hotel's history, and plans for more renovations and upgrades. We stayed in a motor lodge room while in town for a nearby wedding. It had recently been renovated and was extremely clean, cute, and kitschy. I loved the decor. There was even a noise machine, something I rely on at home for good sleep. It was a nice extra, since with the bathroom door closed, we couldn't even hear the shower from the bedroom.

The breakfast was fantastic, with great scrambled eggs, bacon, juice, and coffee, even though it's called continental. Our room was spotless and comfortable, and the lounge was warm, with lovely seating and huge south-facing windows. The staff were friendly and knew the area well. Three major ski areas are within about 20 minutes of COHO Inn, so we'll definitely come back on a Vermont ski trip.

We ski around New England every weekend, and COHO is now near the top of our list for places to stay. The rooms are cozy and clean, with everything you'd get at a high-end hotel, plus amazing-smelling bath products. Breakfast gets an A+, with something for everyone, and the shared spaces are comfortable, clean, and adorable. The owners really try to make things easy. They have their own plow, so even after over a foot of snow, you can drive straight out and get to the mountain for first chair. If you're in the area, don't miss it. And remember to support small businesses by booking directly.

The owners were super accommodating for everyone in our university ski group, and breakfast was delicious. Okemo is an amazing resort, about 15 minutes away. I'd recommend staying here.
