There are better places nearby if you're in town for anything other than a family stay, a holiday visit, or a night before a cruise. The room could work for those kinds of trips, but the renovation is hard to miss: the whole first floor looked like a scene from DEXTER, and riding the elevator up just one floor felt like an adventure and maybe a code violation. The work also means loud noise from 9-5. Nothing is within a 10-minute walk, just car dealerships, gas stations, homes, and a couple of restaurants. Sawgrass in Sunrise and Pembroke Pines have more going on, but getting there means a highway trip. Free hot breakfast is a plus, though the menu repeats daily and wasn't something I'd want more than once or twice. There's room service too, though I doubt many people order it. The coffee in the room was undrinkable, but downstairs they had free coffee in the morning. I'd skip it unless you're reading this in Late 2026, and even then it feels like a place to sleep before a cruise or visit grandma.

We paid 202 per night, then were offered a different room for another 160 per night when we complained that our reservation wasn't honored. The listing said Standard double bed studio with extra bed and sofa, so we understood we were getting two beds plus a couch. Instead there was one bed and one sofa that could pull out. They said they had no rooms with two beds and a sofa, only a suite with two bedrooms, a bed in each, and a sofa in the living room and dining room. This feels like a scam hotel, and Marriott shouldn't be backing it. Stay away, buyer beware.

The bathroom was the last straw. The shower had such weak pressure it felt like someone was spitting on me, and the remodeled layout was so cramped my bigger husband couldn't stand straight without the shower door hitting his shoulder and the wall against his other one. The body wash smelled minty enough to burn sensitive areas, which wasn't pleasant. We’d stayed here before and the first time was fine, but nobody told us when we booked that this visit would have construction noise from 9-5 or that water would be off for an hour a day. Those times worked out since we were away, but we should have been told. The room itself was spacious and had what we needed. Still, we were very disappointed and won't stay a third time.

The elevator was broken again during this stay, as it has been on other visits, and nobody warned us. With my hip problems I couldn't get upstairs. The staff also wouldn't help open the pullout couch or put linens on the bed because of a bad back. As a Marriott Gold member, I told them this has never happened before. I've stayed here multiple times, and the rooms have been moldy with smelly rugs.
