Vacation Village at Weston, Fort Lauderdale

Everyone has been so friendly and helpful, and the amenities have made us happy. Our room is clean and new, with a partial kitchen. It has what we need except for a stove and oven, though there is a small plug-in cooktop for cooking. What a nice surprise. We checked in yesterday for our anniversary week, and Aliyah made the process seamless. She was pleasant and did an outstanding job. This morning I took a water class, and Alex made it a fun, great workout. I'm already looking forward to the next one. Camilla also led a great yoga class. On Memorial, she made a lot of the kids happy with games and goodies. Every time I saw her, she was smiling. Thanks for all the smiles and friendly service. Gotta go, bingo is starting! Good times and amazing memories.

This was our fourth visit. We used to give the resort five stars, and it's still great, though now I'd say 4.5. I believe it was bought out, and the best change is that nobody tried to sell us a timeshare presentation. We booked a week through Expedia for our family of six and got a clean, comfortable deluxe two-room suite, A&B. The smoothie bar costs more now and takes cards only, which isn't great when you've got four young kids. We love the pool, the quiet atmosphere in Weston, and the year-round warmth. The kids always find other children to play with, and there are lots of activities less than an hour away. Bingo is still fun, but having people aged 60 or older play in or right beside the pool was frustrating when my kids and I were trying to enjoy it. There should be a rule requiring bingo players to stay 10 feet from the pool. We played twice and kept more than 10 feet away out of respect for those who wanted to swim.

If I could give it zero stars, I would. The actual “suites” looked nothing like the pictures online. We walked into old, broken tiles, damaged countertops, and flickering lights. The whole place felt filthy and unsanitary. I couldn't even bring myself to use the restroom and would have preferred a gas station bathroom. I came for my birthday, but spent more than two hours trying to find another nearby hotel so I could get ready for dinner with my husband. It ruined what should have been a special night. The staff were horrible, dismissive and unhelpful, and clearly uninterested in addressing anything. Customer service was nonexistent. Between the state of the rooms and the lack of professionalism, this place is deeply disappointing and feels like it should be shut down. I genuinely wonder how it operates without serious health code violations being addressed. I'd strongly advise people to stay far away.

On my recent visit, there were no towels for guests and the complimentary lemonade station, which is usually available, had been removed. I've visited the resort pool several times before and generally enjoyed it, so this was especially disappointing. The staff member on duty was the biggest concern. When guests politely asked about getting more towels, the response was dismissive and unprofessional instead of helpful. For a place presenting itself as a premium resort, missing basic amenities and poor service fell well short of expectations. Hospitality and attentiveness matter in a resort, and neither was evident this time. I hope management addresses these problems for future guests.
