South Bay Inn

The seating area and fire pit out back were a big plus. The view is amazing, and it was peaceful and relaxing. There’s a Dollar General within walking distance if you forget something, and a grocery store nearby too. I really like the town itself. My mom and I stayed a couple of nights in two queen beds, which were very comfortable. The Inn is cute and cozy, and the fireplace in the inside bedroom was perfect. There wasn’t much bathroom counter space, if any, but I’d definitely come back.

We had noisy neighbors the first night, talking loudly and with dogs, but they quieted down before 10 pm, so it wasn’t a problem. After that, we didn’t hear other guests or traffic, which was a plus of the location. The staff were great and answered questions right away. The room was very clean, and I loved the rain shower head and strong water pressure. We enjoyed Westport in the off season. It’s a working fishing village, so don’t expect high-end anything, but everyone we met was friendly and helpful. We found plenty of beach rocks, sand dollars, shells, and seafood.

We’ve stayed in two different rooms and enjoyed both. They’re clean and welcoming, with a nice coffee and tea setup, and the kitchenette rooms have been lovely. The outdoor seating area and firepit look great, though it’s too cold to enjoy them right now. I’d love to come back in summer and use those spaces. This place is cute and easy to stay at, and we’ll absolutely return.

The pet setup was thoughtful. They provided a sheet to keep dog hair off the linens and a handout with pet rules, and there’s a big grassy area at the end of the lot with a dog-bag can. The parking lot and grass were very clean too. My dog and I stayed in a king room, and it was adorable and just right for us. I’ve rarely seen a cleaner pet-friendly room, you really couldn’t tell pets had been there. It’s a few minutes from everything, though not quite in the town center. The coffee stand in the parking lot is a big plus. The room had a comfortable bed with a Roku TV, a little kitchen with stove, microwave, and fridge, a rainfall shower head, mini toiletries, plenty of towels, and even a makeup towel. The road was louder than I expected, and the bathroom had almost no counter space or light above the shower. I had trouble getting the door code to work, but someone noticed and got me in right away before I even reached out.
