Key West Inn Wetumpka

I’d look somewhere else to stay, and keep a close eye on your bank statement if you do book here. On two separate business stays, they charged my card twice each night, then acted like the first payment had been declined and asked me to turn the card back on. You tell me what to make of that. When I went in to sort it out, they got defensive straight away. They said they couldn’t check it from a phone and told me to get a bank printout, highlight the charges, and they’d send it to management. Sounds like an innocent mistake, right? Sure, and I’m Fred Flintstone. I can’t say whether it was intentional, but it sure felt like they were trying to rip me off.

They’re trying to clean the place up, and it looks pretty good from the outside. Inside, though, it still has that 80s blue exterior and pink interior look and needs an update. Not the best place to stay, but it’s okay.

Having a quiet, peaceful room where I could sleep better than I had in weeks made all the difference. I was in the area during my brother’s surgeries, 125 miles from home in Etowah County, and booking a room while he was in SICU made sense. I’m not a fan of big box hotel chains, so I was glad to find Key West Inn Wetumpka while widening my search around Montgomery. The room was spacious and always clean, with plenty of towels, soap, and tissues. From the front desk and housekeeping to the other guests, everyone I encountered was nice. There was good fresh coffee in the morning, plus sweet snacks, cereal, and juice in the lobby, even though I’m not much of a breakfast person. Key West Inn Wetumpka became my little sanctuary away from the hospital room.

Abbi gave us such a warm welcome, with a bright smile and genuinely sweet manner. He took great care of us, and the whole check-in was friendly and efficient. It made for a great start to our stay at Key West Inn!
