Holiday Inn Express White House by IHG

The whole staff showed us amazing hospitality, and I want to thank them. Given the circumstances that brought us there, they made sure we were taken care of. Our room was always clean, and they respected our belongings. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, and the blanket kept us warm. The breakfast bar was pretty good, especially when they served bacon. I’d recommend this hotel to anyone I know now or in the future.

The room was clean, and the areas we used seemed well cared for. We brought two dogs and were charged a nonrefundable $25 each for the overnight stay, which felt a little excessive, but choices were limited. I’m an IGH member and was told I got member discounts, though I wish they’d discounted the pet charges too. It is what it is. There was a little misunderstanding about a conditioner container that was filled with shampoo. We also found a rolly polly and a tiny many-legged bug in the room. I would’ve liked a stronger coffee option, since they only had medium roast, and there was no coffee in the rooms, just in the front area.

The front desk staff were pleasant, and the room was clean and looked newer, as if the hotel had been refurbished recently. My only disappointment was finding the pool closed, which I hadn’t been told when I booked. The sign said “seasonal,” but it was mid-May, so I thought it should have been open.

We had a good stay, even during a holiday week. Every staff member was friendly and helpful, and the rooms were very clean. Breakfast offered choices for everyone.
