L'Auberge Provencale Inn & Restaurant

Breakfast in the dining room each morning was the highlight of our mini honeymoon over Thanksgiving. Katie was so warm and inviting, and her recommendations for our outings were great. We also loved having a fire in the room, which was surprisingly comfortable despite its historic feel. The room itself was nice, though the porch light was so bright while we were trying to sleep that we unscrewed it after not finding a switch. We would have preferred a loveseat or couch to the chairs, and a little more bathroom counter space would have helped. Still, it was very well priced, and we’ll definitely be back!

Drew at the bar made the evening even better with his easy conversation and great drink recommendations. The food was excellent, and all the staff were friendly and welcoming. My wife and I were celebrating our 37th anniversary at L’Auberge Provencale, and our spacious, clean, comfortable room was a pleasure to return to. The walk-in shower was a nice touch. Everything about the stay felt top-notch. We’d recommend it and look forward to coming back.

Our guests raved about the food, the venue, and the whole experience, and the meal really was fantastic. Emily and Celeste kept the wedding on time, and the wait staff and housekeeping were wonderful too. Every detail seemed anticipated and taken care of, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere made for a fairytale day. We’ve already joked about doing it again next week. The required stay for the bride and groom was convenient, and the rooms were historic and well appointed. I wasn’t keen on the mattress, and the room felt a bit warm. Opening a window fixed that on the second night, though those are personal preferences and others may feel differently. The setting is peaceful, idyllic, and beautiful, but it’s not close to much. Anyone wanting to be near downtown Winchester and its amenities might find that inconvenient.

The Chagall room was enjoyable, especially the very comfortable bed. The bathroom was smaller than I expected, though I liked the soaking tub. The house has an interesting history, and the inn itself was nice and well kept. Breakfast was good, just not as spectacular as I expected, and unfortunately the on-site restaurant was a miss.
