Super 8 White River Junction

I felt singled out and uncomfortable during my interaction with Kellie at the front desk. I had my booking confirmation, but she wouldn't let me into my room because I didn't have the invoice breakdown with me. She was rude and dismissive instead of helping me sort it out. I also politely asked about discount rates for future stays. She raised her voice and responded disrespectfully. The way she treated me left me feeling unfairly treated and concerned that her behavior was racially biased. Guests should be treated with patience and respect. Management should take this seriously and address how this interaction was handled.

We checked out at 4am because I couldn't stand the room any longer. Room #109 was filthy and badly outdated, with smudges on the walls and what might have been fecal matter smeared near the bed. The smell was awful, like urine, a wet dog, and scat. The toilet only flushed if you held the handle down for a while. We arrived so late that I felt I had no choice but to shower and take a short nap, even though I knew right away we couldn't stay there. On the stairs, there were wet towels, dog food bowls, coolers on the AC units with food, and clothes hanging around. It looked obvious to me that the place was housing state welfare clients or renting by the week to people on low incomes. Either way, people deserve better than these conditions. Management and the owners should be ashamed. Keep out!

The room had no microwave, mini fridge, or coffee, and the carpet smelled. The carpet on the stairs was absolutely filthy too. Even the door number had fallen off and was lying on the floor in front of the door. This was the most expensive room of our 10-day trip and easily the worst. I booked through Expedia without checking earlier guest reviews, and I won't make that mistake again. Hard to believe this is a Wyndham property. How sad.

I won't be back. Right before we left, we sat down for a snack and an older employee slammed the microwave while looking over his shoulder at us, took his food out, then slammed it again. It left me feeling like we weren't welcome for some reason. The receptionist was fine, but one bad apple can spoil the bunch. The room was decent, with a firm bed and fluffy pillows, though the bathroom could have been cleaned better. Breakfast was mostly cereal, bagels, and muffins, with some fruit as the only thing with much nutritional value. There was plenty of juice and tea, but the coffee was watery. I don't recommend it.
