Candlewood Suites - Fort Worth/West by IHG

We left before our planned checkout because we felt ignored when asking for basic care. We arrived on 12/22 to visit family for the holidays and were due to leave Saturday. On 12/24, around 8:30 in the morning, we asked for the bed to be made and fresh towels. Expedia's hotel listing said daily housekeeping, so we thought it might just need to be requested after it hadn't happened the day before. We came back late that night to find the room untouched, and the window had been left open. It was extremely humid and uncomfortable. When we asked for towels on the 25th, the clerk told us to bring the used ones downstairs. In all our many hotel stays, I've never been asked to do that. Usually housekeeping picks them up outside the door. My partner asked whether the clerk could check if our room had been serviced, but he couldn't find anything on the check sheet. It seems strange that room records wouldn't show that in this day and age, especially when there should be a process for tracking guest needs. Then the clerk asked when we had checked in. After we said Monday, he looked at a calendar and explained that, as a long-stay hotel rather than a regular one, we weren't due for service until Sunday. We were checking out Saturday, so apparently we weren't going to get any. A refresh halfway through a stay seems reasonable, with timing adjusted to the length of the booking. I don't usually post negative reviews. I tend to focus on the positive, but places need feedback and a chance to improve.
