Iron Horse Inn

I couldn't sleep, and that made all the other problems hard to overlook. The beds were rock hard, with just two flat pillows each, while the noisy, dysfunctional A/C and an alarm next door kept going through the night. Light came through broken blinds, and parking was odd. The room was clean, though dated, with stains on the floors. I usually choose low-budget hotels and don't expect much, but $119 didn't feel like a budget price. I was also charged a few dollars more than the travel site had agreed. I wouldn't stay here again.

The first night at the bar was great: Brynn was a wonderful waitress, and the pizza was amazing. The next night was the opposite. The bartender was rude, our pizza was frozen, and when we said the mushrooms covered the whole pizza instead of just half, she denied it and called us liars. She said she didn't give a shit what we said and that she'd known we'd be bitchy from the moment we walked in. We left, and our Son never got to eat. I've worked in food and bars for years, and this was the worst customer service I've ever had. The room was missing a lot: no fridge, microwave, coffee pot, counters, chairs, phones, clocks, or TV guide. There were only white vertical blinds, and they didn't close properly, so the street light kept us awake. We found candy and garbage by the edge of the bed, and the carpet was sticky. The desk clerk seemed not to care, and there were no refunds for checking out early. Stay away and spend your money somewhere else.

For $69, we got a very clean room with two good beds, though it was plain and had no fridge or microwave. They serve coffee in the morning, and we spent a couple of hours at the bar on site. We stayed at the Iron Horse on December 6, '23, and check-in went smoothly. Google Maps led us right to the place.

The front desk ladies were really friendly and gave us good tips for lunch and a place to play darts. We got there very early, but they let us check in without a problem. The rooms were clean and simple, and the service was great. Beds were a little hard, but I've had the same at pricier hotels. We had too much fun too early to make it to the bar, so I wish we'd checked it out. We'll be back!
