Staybridge Suites Wichita Falls

We’ve liked staying at Staybridge in another city, so booking this Wichita Falls one seemed reasonable. But the room put us off as soon as we entered. It smelled bad, the couch was dusty and dirty, and the silverware in the drawers wasn’t clean. They offered another room, but after seeing the first one we declined and booked somewhere else.

The sink wouldn’t drain, and the shower water came only partly from the showerhead, with the rest still running out of the lower tub faucet. The bathroom smelled like smoke. There was mud and roaches in the entry walkway, still there the next morning, and a gross looking carrier by the back door that might have been for stray cats. The smell was awful. We would’ve left right away if it hadn’t been late and the next hotel an hour away. I wish we hadn’t booked here. I’ve stayed with IHG thousands of times, including at Staybridge, and this was the dirtiest hotel I’ve been to. The worst stay ever. Please go somewhere else. Zero stars.

Coming back from dinner around 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., we found the area outside felt very sketchy, with several men hanging around: one in pajamas, one in a hoodie, and another sitting in a truck. Inside, the breakfast area had no AC and only two small fans, while the hallways were hot too. Breakfast needs work. Our room was in unacceptable condition. The living room furniture looked moldy, discolored, and very worn. The box spring was old, with stains that looked like mold or dirt, and black stuff showed through the paint on the bathtub wall. The closet smelled so strongly I couldn’t put anything in it. The hotel feels old, neglected, and poorly maintained. I wouldn’t recommend it.

ROACHES IN BOTH ROOMS. I was here for two weeks for work, but drove home after the first week and took time off rather than stay in this place. In the first room, small and large roaches crawled on the walls and in the bathroom. My towels and the shelf were thick with dust, as if they’d been sitting there for months. I switched rooms and found another roach in the tub. I was debating sleeping in my car.
