Apollo Resort Motel

We go at least twice a year and always get an oceanfront efficiency room with a semi-private balcony. Watching the sunrise over the ocean each morning is something I absolutely love. Management is kind and considerate, and when I have a concern or problem they’re right there to sort it out as soon as possible. We spend a lot of time in the pool with the grandkids, too. In my opinion, the price is well worth the stay. We just got back from the beach and will be back in September.

The young man who helped me was very accommodating, and everyone was nice. I got extra towels and a replacement lamp after the one in the room stopped working. There were a couple of issues with the room cleaning when I arrived, and I took care of that, but housekeeping could do a little better. When I had to leave early to take my grandchild to the hospital because she was ill, I left my information on the emergency phone number and received a call back later that day. I’d recommend this place.

We found a last-minute Sunday night reservation in July, and the price is hard to beat for a spot this close to a gorgeous beach, just a few blocks away. The motel has a nostalgic feel, like stepping back into the 1950s, which we liked. The beds and fixtures are definitely dated, so don’t expect modern luxury, but they add to the vintage charm. Great value and old-school vibes.

The only good thing about our stay was being within walking distance of the beach. There was no real housekeeping: no toilet tissue in the bathroom, floors never mopped, and nobody made the bed. The bathroom smelled like urine, and the shower pressure was so low it was barely more than a drip. The guy at the main desk was very rude, too. Save your money or book somewhere else.
