Landmark Motel

I’m 22, paid for a room, and showed up for a friends’ holiday trip, only to be refused the keys because I’m under 25. Then I was told it could take over a week to get my $500+ back. I’ve booked hotels around the world and never had this happen. I’m a legal adult with the money, and they wasted my time. Maybe I dodged a bullet.

We were walk-ins over the 4th of July weekend with 11 teenagers, so we took two rooms. Check-in went smoothly, but at $300 each the rooms felt expensive for what we got. They’ve been updated, though the beds were uncomfortable, with coils you could feel pressing through. The pool seemed chlorinated enough for the number of people using it, and management put up with a lot of chaos, which I appreciated with our group. The loud hardcore rap by the pool and constant marijuana smell were too much for me, though. I’d suggest having management inspect the room with you before you leave so you agree on its condition for the deposit. Would I stay again? Yes. Recommend it to a friend? No.

I won’t come back or recommend this place. The staff weren’t friendly from the start, and I saw the owner yelling at staff in front of guests. When I said I’d write a Google review, he said he didn’t care. Our room smelled bad and had a serious leak. I told the front office, but nothing happened until I brought it up twice. The pool was filthy, with grease and boogers in it, and the towels were very dirty. At checkout I waited a long time, then the owner came out yelling that he was taking $10 from my deposit for the maintenance lady because we supposedly left a mess. We cleaned the room before leaving, and it was already a mess when we arrived. Please find somewhere safe and peaceful.

The rooms were decent, but there was basically no water pressure. Weed smell all night and loud, obnoxious neighbors with foul mouths made everything else miserable. It’s close to the boardwalk, though getting to the actual beach and water takes a hike. We checked out early. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for quiet or relaxation, and it’s not a good spot for younger kids. Definitely won’t return.
