It was a cute place, even if our room felt a little dated. The string of Christmas lights above the bed looked like someone had just rigged them up there 🤣🤣. It was quiet, and we saw lots of deer and turkeys. There was no internet at all, and I felt bad for the cooks since nobody was there to eat. It was slow season, but still a nice vacation spot.
The women running the lodge were so lovely and helpful. I stayed in both the Gazebo and the Lodge, and adored both visits. Such a charming, adorable place. Five stars! ⭐️
I really appreciated Kim (??) arranging an earlier check-in for me just before that huge storm hit. The room was spotless, cute and comfortable, and the breakfast had plenty of choices. Sitting outside was lovely in such a peaceful setting. This is the best bed and breakfast I’ve stayed at, and everyone I met on the grounds was friendly and seemed happy. That matters to me when I’m spending money at a business, because I want to know they support their workers. I do have a couple ideas for cutting down morning waste. Wood stirrers could be reduced, and having mugs and/or knives easier to find might encourage visitors to cut their environmental impact. I’d even be happy to make a sign to bring attention to it. I also loved seeing a refillable bubble bath instead of tiny bottles. Maybe there could be a partnership with a local soap and shampoo maker. There’s a great refill shop, Green Life Trading, in Madison, and I’d be glad to volunteer to help make the connection or sort out logistics. I hope to stay again if I’m in the area. Keep up the great customer service and wonderful place!
Maria and Rita made sure we had what we needed and shared great local recommendations. We enjoyed relaxing with coffee on the porch, taking in the quiet atmosphere, and exploring nearby sights. The whole place felt comfortable and welcoming. Our room was spotless and thoughtfully put together, with cozy touches and a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was a real highlight, fresh, homemade and delicious, and you could feel the care that went into it. From the lovely surroundings to the hospitality, Percy Getaway was a charming retreat. We can’t wait to return. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I have to give it a 3. We’d stayed before, so I was excited when we arrived for my 40th birthday, but the AC was only blowing warm air. They answered when I called and brought us a fan, and we opened all the windows, but I was still sticky and hot. A warm bath was the last thing I wanted, so we spent some time outside because it was warmer in the room than outdoors. It’s a really cute, romantic place, so maybe it was just this room. 💁🏻♀️
