Clear Sky Resorts - Grand Canyon - Unique Sky Domes

The activities were a highlight: live music, movie nights, and s'mores by the bonfire, plus an easy drive to the Grand Canyon. The food we managed to order was very good, especially the BBQ chicken flatbread, and the staff were out of several items, perhaps because we visited at the end of the season. For example, there was filled cheese on a hamburger bun. The domes were clean and the bathrooms a good size. A maintenance check after each check might help, since our fridge needed attention and one dresser drawer was broken. The WiFi also needs a big improvement. Still, it was a great experience.

Getting to the Grand Canyon was quick and easy every day, and the location itself was amazing. The staff were energetic and refreshingly positive, and everyone was friendly and fun to talk to. Stargazing was incredible. I saw planets, star systems, and even the Andromeda Galaxy with my naked eye, things I'd always wanted to see. We hope to come back soon.

We came up during the night each evening to look at the incredible stars right from our bed, and the resort made a lovely place to fill the time between our Grand Canyon outings. Clear Skies also put together lots of family activities, like free evening s'mores, movies, and a bounce playground. The small food truck served some delicious meals, and the dining dome wait staff were always smiling, friendly, and helpful. The best surprise was the resort astronomer, Craig. He's kind, welcoming, and so knowledgeable, and did a wonderful job including the kids. We learned a lot and enjoyed his stargazing sessions so much that we'd return just for more of them. We heard other guests say the same. It's a simple but beautiful, well planned dome away from home, and we had a wonderful time near the Grand Canyon.

The stargazing tour with Craig was the highlight. He showed us Saturn, Venus, Jupiter, the Sun, and several important stars, and his enthusiasm was contagious. He also made it a fun, memorable experience for our child. Don't miss the tour! Our room at Clear Sky Resorts – Grand Canyon was neat and looked like the online pictures, though the walls are plastic sheets rather than glass. The staff were welcoming, and we liked the small extras: live music in the evening, s'mores kits, and a cozy bonfire after dark. There were lots of vegetarian-friendly food choices, which was a big plus, but the portions were small. A unique, family-friendly getaway by the Grand Canyon.
