The room was filthy when we arrived, with food scraps on the floor, stained sheets, and what looked like mold in the shower and on the ceiling. The walls and doors were very soaked, and nobody took out the trash or changed the sheets. Two days later there was no improvement. My wife called several times about problems and asked for two clean towels, but getting towels or other supplies was a daily struggle. After waiting hours with no one coming, I went to complain about the dirt, mold, and repeated calls. The so-called hotel manager yelled at me and said I should replenish the items myself. I’d give this place zero stars if I could. I’m going to try contacting the Days Inn corporate office about what happened.

We were in town with friends for Busch Gardens Hall-o-scream, and room 253 at the days inn ended up being the frightening part of the night. I’ve never felt so unsafe in a hotel. We checked in around 12:45am. The front desk manager was disrespectful when we struggled with the key and didn’t realize there were two doors to the room. He rolled his eyes when I asked for help, then eventually came around the counter. We finally got settled at about 12:55. There were dark red and brown stains on the carpet and comforter, plus a urine stain on one bed. The pull-out couch mattress had more red and brown stains, no sheets, and trash scattered on it, including a shirt, underwear, paper towels, and bottle caps. It was generally filthy, so we didn’t feel safe using it. In the first bathroom, there was pubic hair in the shower where the water wouldn’t drain, hair on the wall and around the drain, and yellow stains throughout. The second bathroom wasn’t much better. We tried calling the front desk several times and nobody picked up. We didn’t feel safe leaving the room. People in the room next door showed us a large blood stain on their floor and said there was blood in their sink. Later, we found blood on our own pillows. Since it was homecoming weekend, every other hotel we called was full. We were lucky to have brought our own pillows and blankets, so we slept on top of the sheets, unable to use what the room provided. At checkout, Ron, who we first thought was the manager, said we wouldn’t get a refund, or would only get $60 of the $200 we’d paid. He blamed us and said we weren’t telling the truth, and that we should have come downstairs to complain the night before. When I mentioned the blood, he stormed off to inspect the room, then blamed us again for not coming down, even though the door was locked and we would have had to ring the doorbell camera. There was nobody downstairs. As a 24 year old woman with friends, I wasn’t comfortable walking back and forth repeatedly. Ron kept saying he “didn’t have time to clean the room” and couldn’t do anything. It was a horror show. I wish I could give zero stars.

A week ago, the first room we were given already had a roach in it. The front desk guy inspected it, apologized, and said he’d handle it. We were moved to a really nice suite upgrade, and I’d stay there again.

The front office looked spotless and smelled nice, but the room was very dirty, with hair on the shower, sink, toilet, bed, and floors. It looked undusted, and there was trash left in the closet. The website said there’d be a coffee maker in the room, but there wasn’t. Breakfast was meant to start at 7am, yet the door was locked at 7:20am. After several calls, someone finally answered and said it didn’t open until 8am.
