Family Inns of America Williamsburg

We booked the family suite for the space, and it was nice to spread out in comfortable beds. But insects were a constant problem: ants were in my bed and all over the room, and there were roaches in the bathroom. The rooms, bathroom, and towels weren’t very clean, our fridge didn’t work, and the pool wasn’t really suitable for us to swim in. I should’ve realized there was no cancellation or refund option. I won’t recommend this place to anyone. If a hotel can’t deliver what you booked, it should try to compensate you, but the owners just smile smugly.

The second-floor steps and railings were rusted and falling apart, and the pool was brown and swampy. This place felt unsafe and disgusting, like a breeding ground for disease, and should be shut down. There was a tattoo party in the room adjoining the lobby, and nobody paid attention to me for half an hour. I booked based on the website pictures, but when I couldn’t stay in the filth, they refused to refund my money and I lost it. I went to another hotel. Don’t make my mistake or give this place your money.

Roaches were freely crawling around in daylight. The place is a dump, and I even asked Expedia to remove it from their site. They’re working on that now. The advertised Wi-Fi wasn’t available. The shower curtain had rust stains, the old TV had a VHS and DVD player, and despite having his and her sinks, neither had hot water. The nonsmoking room’s carpet was covered in burn marks, and there was so much dust under the TV that I’d have sneezed the whole time if I had allergies. I got food poisoning while there, or I wouldn’t have stayed more than one night. I ended up there four nights because I was ill. Nobody ever came by to ask whether I wanted the room turned down or needed towels. I wouldn’t let my pets stay overnight. Worst place ever, it needs to be shut down.

Just no. It was nasty and we were very uncomfortable. This didn’t feel like a family place at all. The sink in our room didn’t work, and there was a man with an open fire in the parking lot. An active train track right next door made it a bad spot for anyone trying to sleep. I asked for extra towels, and the woman said she had to go find clean ones. That sounded promising, though she was nice.
