I attended an event on Sunday and was really disappointed by the bar choices. There was no non-dairy milk for a mixer, no sweet wine, and no soft drink other than cola. Please do better for your events.

The Genetti Hotel is very handy for downtown, with everything within walking distance, and many of our guests enjoyed exploring without driving. The breakfast was truly excellent, the staff were friendly throughout, and the bartenders at the hotel bar were warm and welcoming after the wedding. Those are real strengths. The older rooms could use updating, though, and the bathroom lights in our rooms didn't work. I started arranging a block of rooms back in February and March, but communication was frustrating. I had to send several emails to get replies, and the booking link for guests expired twice during the year, so I had to call each time to get a new one. I also reserved three rooms for myself and my wedding party for both Friday and Saturday. The week of the wedding, I was told the Saturday part wasn't in the system, even though I had a printout showing both nights. A helpful front desk staff member managed to book a separate reservation to fix it, but it was stressful so close to the wedding. My fiancé arrived before me, and his room had no heat the first night. The staff compensated him after he reported it, which we appreciated. Our guests enjoyed their stays, but the booking problems and room condition made parts of the weekend more complicated than expected.

This older, historic hotel is in a great town, and its restaurant is top notch. My wife and I keep coming back even though we only live a couple of hours away. On this trip we booked one night, but Ryan was able to add a second at the same rate. We got a suite with French doors between the rooms, both clean and each with a TV. It was quiet too, with no street noise or the usual door slamming you hear at many hotels. If you're used to modern chains, this might not be your place, but we enjoy it.

We chose this place for its reasonable price and because it was just around the corner from the performing arts center. Inside, it has vintage charm, and the included breakfast was very good. The one issue was a loud rumbling in the pipes a few minutes after flushing the toilet. The gentleman at the front desk, there after 4 p.m. on 11/6, was friendly and helpful. I'd definitely stay here again.

The front desk staff were kind and courteous and tried to help, but many of the problems seemed beyond their control. My colleagues and I were at the hotel for a conference, and a lot went wrong. When my colleagues got their key, they walked into a room that already had another guest in it. Another colleague found yellow jackets in his closet, which was a serious issue because he is allergic. My room smelled like an old folk's home, and the microwave didn't work. I cut my hand and asked the front desk for a band aid, but they only had gauze. My key deactivated at least three times during my two-day stay, locking me out. Staff thought static electricity might be the reason, though I wasn't keeping the key in my pocket and other guests had the same problem. At the banquet in the hotel's ballroom, my napkin and cup were dirty and looked like someone had already used them. We had arranged payment in advance, but another conference attendee was wrongly charged even though someone else was supposed to pay. The bathroom was subpar too. The tub was very slippery, and there were spots on the wallpaper that looked like mold. I understand the hotel is historic and has some charm, but the rooms badly need renovation. I wouldn't recommend staying here.
