Willows Motel Williamstown

The proprietor was welcoming and accommodating, and breakfast came with the usual basics plus a nice range of fresh fruit and berries. Our room was quiet, clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed.

The location was ideal, though it’s close enough to the road that passing car noise could bother some people. Parking can fill up, but I always found a space. Breakfast was fantastic, with fresh fruit, juice, muffins, and bagels. The serving area is a bit cramped, but they’ll open the back room when it gets busy. Service was friendly and welcoming throughout my couple of weeks there. The rooms are dated, the walls are somewhat thin, and the bathroom only vents through an open window. Our toilet seat was missing a screw and slid around, but they fixed it quickly. The large TV was great during the MLB playoffs, and the beds were comfortable enough that I slept fine. I can easily recommend a stay, as long as you don’t need the fanciest modern room.

The healthy breakfast was a nice extra, with fresh fruit and a variety of breads. Willows has lovely gardens, lawn furniture, and a seasonal pool, plus a safe, friendly feel. The owner runs it with his family and is wonderful. Ask ahead and they’ll accommodate your needs. I hope to come back when I’m in Williamstown for the Clark Institute, Williams College, Williamstown Theatre, and nearby Tanglewood.

The continental breakfast was as good as or better than others I’ve had, and the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The morning staff even opened a little earlier than usual because he knew I needed to get to my job site. I was working a couple of towns away, three hours from home each way, and my company had me stay out there. I’d wanted a smaller family-run place instead of a corporate hotel, so I walked in off the street. They had a room, and it was great: a comfortable bed, clean room, and a hot shower. I stayed three nights the first week, then came back the following week for four more. I still have more work in the area and won’t hesitate to stay there again.
