SkyLight Inn Cleveland - Willoughby

The location is convenient, right by 271 and 90, but the stay was horrible. The AC was broken and leaking onto the floor, which made the room smell moldy. There were stains on the bedding, cigarette marks on the bathroom counter and furniture, and the rooms were dirty. When I asked for another room, the manager was very rude and said I'd have to check out, move all my things, then come back five hours later at 3 p.m. check-in, even though other rooms were available.

This is a budget motel room, so set expectations accordingly. It was clean enough, the bed was comfortable enough, and I didn't see bed bugs or mold. The staff were friendly and helpful, definitely the highlight. They made fresh complimentary coffee downstairs for us before we hit the road, and the vending machine had juice, Celsius, and Gatorade. It's well located and a good cheap option for a cross-country trip if you don't need all the bells and whistles.

The front desk staff were friendly, and the hotel was convenient since it was right off I-90. I was only passing through, so I can't really comment on the location beyond that. The room wasn't very modern or clean and smelled of alcohol, marijuana, and other things. I pulled back the covers first thing to check for bed bugs. My husband and I both decided against showering because we felt we'd come out dirtier. If you're after luxury, this isn't the place.

The neighborhood is great, with lots of shopping and places to eat, and the rooms are clean and the staff professional. It's an economical, comfortable choice if what you need is a quiet, peaceful place to stay. Just don't come expecting a five-star hotel.
