Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Wilmington, NC

We had a really nice stay, and the location made it easy to get around since pretty much everything was walkable. The only real issue was the noise from people on our floor, with loud voices and doors slamming.

The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the continental breakfast was decent. I was working overnight shifts, though, and housekeeping was so loud each morning that sleeping past 11:00 am was impossible. One woman seemed to shout orders in Spanish at a high volume for a long time. Great place for most things, just not for sleeping during the day.

The employees were friendly and did their best, so I don't blame them. The bathroom was clean, but the interior felt pretty worn down and a little smelly. The hallway and room carpets seem like they may still be the originals. This place probably had its best years about 20 years ago.

I picked this hotel for its location because I love a restaurant in Wilmington and was only flying in for one night. The bed was one of the absolute worst I've slept on, and the hallways and elevator were dirty. The lobby seemed to be the only clean area, while the first-floor hallway was literally sticky. The pool was closed for maintenance, or maybe they were growing a new Swamp Thing in there. Honestly, the hotel itself might be too disappointing even for Swamp Thing. I should've booked the Red Roof down the road.
