Holiday Inn Portland- I-5 S (Wilsonville) by IHG

We stayed two nights over the holidays with my grandparents, and everyone we met was kind and helpful. Laura at the front desk was welcoming and had good information. Jarred at Boone Town was a delight in the morning, generous and helpful, with a great sense of humor and amazing service. The rooms and the whole building are very well cared for. Thank you to all!❤️

The rooms smell like smoke, and there’s no microwave in the room, so I guess you’re meant to take one from the herd in the hallway. The elevator only works sometimes. The remodel during covid was just lipstick, and the hotel needs some actual care. I also never get my points for skipping room cleaning under the Greener Stay program. I avoid staying here.

The manager saved the day and was so kind. We arrived on Thursday needing that night, but somehow our reservation didn’t include it. She managed to work everything out for us. Sincerely, Thankful 🌻

I usually pick Holiday Inn when I need a hotel, if one’s available, but this stay wasn’t the best. The beds were amazing and the shower pressure was great. Most of the room was clean and there were no bugs, but it needed a good vacuum and dusting, and the bathroom needed sweeping. There was also something spilled on the bathroom door. The shower was slippery and hard to get into, with no grab bars or slip pads, and the water wasn’t draining because of a plumbing issue. The air conditioning worked, but was so loud it sounded like the compressor was going out. Breakfast cost $14, which surprised me because breakfast has always been included at the other Holiday Inns I’ve stayed at. It was included in my rate, but I would’ve asked for a refund if I’d paid for it. There were two egg choices, one with ham and one with cheese, and both were very salty. The two cereal dispensers were almost empty, there was only one potato option with onions and peppers, just one yogurt left, and bacon and sausage. I’m gluten free, and there was no gluten free bread. I think there was batter for waffles too. If you’re gluten-free, have other food allergies, or are vegetarian, there aren’t many choices. There was nowhere to leave dirty dishes, so most of the tables were covered and we had fewer places to sit. The parking lot was large, but it was hard to find a spot. I paid $151, which was about $50 too much.
