A lovely base for exploring the Hill Country, with Blue Hole, old Baldy, and Jacobs well very close by. You can also take day trips to Hamilton Pool, Enchanted rock, Fredericksberg, or Johnson City. It's about half a mile from the square, set on a quiet road. This is a non staffed place with around 12 rooms, a nice pool and hot tub, clean rooms, and comfortable beds. Morning coffee and pastries are covered by vouchers for Blanco brew. A great place to crash for a few days.

I was nervous about how a contactless hotel would work, but it impressed me. We stayed a few days and enjoyed every moment. It had everything we needed to feel at home away from home. Downtown Wimberly is only a few minutes' walk away, so we could skip the traffic and the hassle of finding a good parking spot. Definitely will stay again. It's the best!

It's a solid 3.5/4 star stay. The room was spotless and in perfect shape, with a comfortable bed and clean dishes. Robes were provided, and I liked the anniversary card and tall candle they left with their logo on it. When booking, I mentioned our anniversary but didn't pay for the anniversary package. A friendly kitty greeted us when we arrived and stayed by our door all Friday night. The shower was immaculate, but there was no conditioner or body wash. I emailed and called the host, and they brought some to the room the next morning. One stool wobbled too much to feel safe sitting on, even though I'm average size. The hot tub was splendid, but watch the timing because it can heat up to 114. The pool was cold and not heated. Other guests said it was advertised as heated, though I don't remember seeing that. Breakfast vouchers from Blanco Brew cover only drip coffee, tea, or juice and a bakery item. I'd suggest getting the cinnamon roll there, then turning around for a breakfast taco from Saucy Taco behind it. Worth it.

Room #9 was nice and clean, and the hotel layout around the pool was great, though parking was so-so. We met family and friends for four days and wanted to book all four nights, but it was full on the first night, so we stayed the following three instead. I wasn't told about the complimentary candles. My main concern is that Room #9 has no exit other than the front door. If that were blocked in an emergency, the glass block windows couldn't be broken through. Also, the trash by the BBQ pit was never picked up, even while housekeeping cleaned the rooms. Overall, though, the place felt very comfortable.

The free pastry and coffee down the road were much appreciated, and the room's kitchen had all the essentials, including the unusual bonus of a freezer. There are great food options nearby: Leaning Pear is a three minute walk, and an excellent BBQ spot is two minutes away. Both meals were great, and HEB is a convenient three minute drive. I just got back from a wonderful two-night stay at Hotel Flora and Fauna. The room was spacious and clean, with a really comfortable bed. I liked the upscale Salt + Stone toiletries, facial wipes, and earplugs in the bathroom, and the robes were a nice touch. I'll tell everyone I know who visits Wimberley to stay here, and I'm looking forward to coming back.
