Stone's Lodge under Mt. Stratton

The room wasn’t ready until an hour after check in, and the place felt run-down, overpriced and unkempt. There was a giant, smelly log of poop waiting in the toilet when we arrived at our expensive “4 star” room. Awesome. The carpets were filthy, the fireplace door was broken with a shard of razor sharp glass sticking out, and bare wires hung from the ceiling. Worst hotel stay EVER.

The bedding and bathroom were clean, but the floor wasn’t, and the pillows and bed were uncomfortable. The pillows were feather stuffed, so allergy sufferers beware. My bill didn’t deduct the deposit, leaving me $30 overpaid, and I’m disputing the transaction. There was no TV at all, and the room was also missing a chair and night stand. The pictures are deceiving, the room is small and lacks a TV, chair and dresser. Parking was awful. The lot was full because of the bar, so I had to park in the woods. I won’t return or recommend it.

The staff were very nice, and our room was spotless. It had clearly been updated, though there were a few stains on the carpet and bathroom rug. That’s to be expected in a place that allows pets. My husband, dog and I stayed for one night in August 2013, and I’d definitely stay again.
