Park Inn by Radisson, Winnemucca

I have one more night here before heading back to AZ, but I won't stay here again. At 11:15 pm someone tried to get into our room because the front desk had apparently given it to another guest. Check-in had already gone badly: I reserved and paid for one double bed for my husband and me, and the first room offered was occupied. The price has become outrageous and isn't worth it. When my husband first came out for work, a few nights were reasonably priced. Now it seems they've raised rates to overcharge the construction workers here, and I know because my husband is one of them. There's nothing exciting in town to justify prices this high.

The room we were given didn't look renovated, though I'm not sure which rooms have been. The floors hadn't been swept properly, the fridge door was disgusting, the shower floor was gross, and there was dust all along the sides of the beds. We couldn't stand being there and left immediately. Other reviewers' photos looked much nicer than our room. The walls were paper thin, too. I could hear the man next door coughing as if he were in our room.

The room was so filthy I bought my own towels, washcloths, cleaning supplies, and bedding at Walmart, then scrubbed the floors five times with fresh water each round. The first three buckets looked like swamp water. There were crumbs all over the bed, as if someone ate there and the bedding was simply made up again. The bathroom was disgusting: stained showers with hair and pubic hairs, stained small toilets, sinks pulling away from the walls, and stained towels and washcloths full of hairs. The floors were absolutely filthy. This wasn't just one bad room, the same conditions were in multiple rooms. The exterior is run down, the walkways are crumbling, and the whole place is dirty. It used to be a Motel 6 and not much has changed. For what you get, it's way overpriced and a one-star motel at best. The owners don't seem to take care of it and seem interested only in pocketing the money. It's right next to a truck stop, so big rigs idle all night. The TV mostly has news and weather, the Wi-Fi is around 2 mbps and basically useless, and the cheap universal remote won't let you connect an HDMI device. Avoid this place at all costs. I never review hotels, but I couldn't let anyone else fall victim to this disgusting place.

While driving through Nevada, my elderly husband had car trouble, and the people here treated him so kindly. I'm very grateful for their hospitality.
