Crystal was quick to answer whenever we had a question, usually within minutes, and she was very accommodating. The location photos were accurate, and there was plenty nearby, from theme parks to restaurants, bars, outlet shopping, family activities, and convenience stores just a block away. The kids especially liked the water and mini golf areas on the property. We were a group of 10 in Orlando in late November and early December: four adult couples and two 12-year-old boys. It was our first Airbnb stay, at 4715 Kings Castle Circle, and we were very happy with it. Finding the place and checking in were easy. The private rooms, bathrooms, shared spaces, dishes, and cooking equipment were all meticulously clean. The photos were taken on our last day, so any mess in them was ours. We’d read comments about noisy neighbors, but that wasn’t our experience. It was quiet and relaxing, and we hardly noticed anyone while lounging by the pool.

The one good thing was getting my deposit back. From the outside, the place looks appealing, with a lazy river water park, gym, pool, nice views, and stores and parks nearby. I only used the gym once, and it was packed. On July 4th they set off fireworks on a bridge right beside my apartment. The display may have looked nice, but the sound was deafening. I rented one of the condos across the pond on a long-term lease when they were first built. I was out of state and naive about the arrangement. Near the end of my lease, the owner sold the condo for a huge profit as Florida’s market took off, leaving me scrambling to find somewhere else. I later learned this was a vacation resort and long-term renters weren’t supposed to be there. The office treated me like a squatter even though I was paying the owner a lot of rent, and I was told the owner had rented to me without HOA permission. There were serious problems inside, too. Mold from a guest-bedroom vent covered all my shoes in a closet, and it was never fixed before I moved out. The roof leaked badly and the ceiling needed repair. Shower and bath water smelled like rotten eggs. Elevators often stopped working, and since I was on the top floor, getting groceries up was miserable for weeks. The noise across the bridge was the worst part. It was party central, loud every 3-4 days through the entire year I lived there. I teleworked and couldn’t sleep, so I called the police repeatedly. At least two nights I remember being so upset that I went into the hallway, where every guest was angry about the noise. People rented condos, partied until around 11pm, went to a bar, then came back and carried on until 4am. The police mostly just asked them to quiet down. I’d finally fall asleep, then wake to noise again in the middle of the night. It wore me down and cost me days at work. Parking was strange, too. Security turned away a friend who came to visit because they didn’t have a pass, and they never came back. I felt stuck after signing the lease, unable to have visitors. I would never recommend staying here. Thankfully, I moved to a quieter area and found a nice apartment meant for long-term renters. I’ve had peace there.

Wouldn’t stay here again. The reception staff were very rude, and the area seemed neglected. A large dead turtle and a dead bird were left lying there throughout our six-day stay, with the bird beside the parking lot. There was no lighting in the evenings. The pool had far too much chlorine, and two people in our party had a strong reaction after swimming.

We arrived to find a dead roach and a live one, and the room was filthy. The sheets had stains and hair, the white couch was grey and dirty, and the appliances were broken: the toaster and can opener didn’t work. One bedroom’s blinds wouldn’t open, the bathroom sink plug was stuck down so water couldn’t drain, the lanai table umbrella had poles hanging down, and the master bedroom TV didn’t work. The office was closed on Sunday, our check-in day. The email warned of a $50 fee for nonemergency calls after hours, so with toddlers in tow we went out at 9:45 pm to buy detergent and wash the sheets ourselves. Maintenance only appeared the evening before checkout. Despite the state of the place, we were charged a $125 cleaning fee. The gate access paper they gave us didn’t work. Cars backed up down the road, and security seemed to let people in, but getting through took over 10 minutes. Management told us to contact the booking agent, who said he was only the agent and didn’t know why his contact details had been given to us. After we contacted them again, they offered just $80 back for everything. This place has gone downhill over the past couple of years. Don’t book here if you expect clean rooms, working appliances, or decent management.

The houses were new, and most had been decorated recently. I did a lot of research before planning an Orlando trip for my family, including two young children and two seniors, and everyone was happy with our stay at Storey Lake. It’s a very convenient base for the major Orlando attractions. We’ll definitely come back on our next Orlando vacation.
