Rodeway Inn & Suites Haines City

I found four German cockroaches in this dump, no exaggeration. One was crawling over the bathroom sink, and three came out of the office chair. I called, but they didn't think spraying was necessary. I'd read three reviews mentioning roaches before arriving and had no choice but to stay, hoping they weren't true. They were completely right. The bedspread was torn, and I got out after one night. Stay far away. This place gets zero stars from me.

The only decent thing was how quiet it was. The room was far too expensive for what we got, and I wouldn't return unless there were dramatic improvements. I didn't expect a Hilton, but I did expect a clean room where I could bathe and sleep without first buying bleach, Lysol, and air freshener. There was black mold on the showerhead, too. They leave the A/C off before guests arrive, so the room was terribly hot and smelled strongly of mold and mildew when we walked in. The pillows were so flat I had to stack all of them to get anything like one pillow. The sheets smelled unchanged, so we bought our own set for peace of mind. The pool was empty, taking away any chance of enjoying that. The place gave me very much “pay by the hour” vibes.

We had a great experience. The room, beds, and bathroom were clean, and room service was great. The gentleman at the check-in counter was extremely nice and pointed out exactly how to reach our room. I'd definitely recommend it.

The room was supposed to be non-smoking but smelled of smoke, along with burnt electrical components. There's no luggage cart or breakfast, the pool was closed, and the hotel is right off a loud, busy highway.
