Sunday morning cartoons were playing while we had the complimentary bagels and burritos, a fun touch among so many thoughtful details. The decor, amenities, location, food and drink menus, and music all added to the stay. Susanne and her team were a delight, and everyone helped make our getaway unforgettable. Thank you to Susanne, Chef John, Emily, Chloe, Alex, Noah and the whole team. I can't recommend this place enough.

The bus to the resort or town stops directly across the street, which made getting around easy. We also had a day trip and found the food and drinks at the A-frame grill unbeatable, absolutely delicious. The staff we met throughout our stay were wonderful. We spent Christmas and our daughter's first birthday here, and wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere else. Our cabin was spacious for the two giant suitcases and pack and play we put in the loft, with plenty of room to move around. We traveled with a teenager and a one-year-old. The spiral staircase in our cabin seemed easier than the other staircase I've seen in photos, so I'd suggest asking for one if you'll be carrying little ones up to the loft. It is steep, though, so keep that in mind. The soak tub was phenomenal. The kitchenette had everything we needed to cook and clean for our little one, and the bathroom was roomy with a wonderful shower. Water pressure is on the low side, which is something to expect in a cabin in a mountain town. Check-in was quick and easy, and I liked getting a door PIN instead of having to find a key card. We stayed warm and cozy all four nights. The cabin does make popping and crackling sounds during the day and night, as wood structures do. There are several places to sit, though no real spot to lounge back and put your feet up. The couch itself is comfortable, and our teenager preferred sleeping on it as a couch rather than pulling it out as a bed. Those are just things to know, not complaints. We were sad to leave, and I'd stay here again next time we come to Winter Park.

After a day on the mountain, the short rib stroganoff and steak made a hearty, comforting dinner. My wife and I split both meals one night. When she became ill overnight, I asked for ginger ale and the women working here sent me off with a whole four-pack, a couple of Cokes, and kind wishes for her. They're a wonderful bunch.

I was hesitant about going out during the holiday week, but dinner at the A Frame on December 21 completely impressed me. The service was friendly and they were well staffed. The food and wine pairing exceeded my expectations, and the beautiful setting made it easy to feel welcome and relaxed.
