The staff were friendly and polite, and the location is hard to beat for visiting my daughter at Rollins. It’s nice to be able to walk everywhere. This is an old “vintage” hotel in historic Winter Park, and I knew not to expect anything fabulous. The train was annoying at first, but I got used to it. The building hasn’t been maintained well; it needs basic work like cleaning mold from the bathroom walls and repairing the plaster and tile. It doesn’t need a full renovation that would ruin its charm. Avoid room 203 if you can. A connecting door to room 201 doesn’t close all the way, so you can hear the person next door as if they’re in your room. On my first night their TV stayed on all night, and the next morning the guy talked loudly on his phone. It was rough, and uncomfortable hearing him use the bathroom. I was told I could call the front desk, but I was so tired I didn’t want to get into it. Choose this hotel if there’s nothing else available close by.

I stayed in the honeymoon suite, with lovely views of the Winter Park Rose garden and Park Ave. The hotel feels full of Winter Park history, even walking through the halls. Shops, restaurants, and bars are an easy walk, and Hannibal Square is also walkable if you’re up for a small hike. The staff were accommodating, the room was very clean, and extra pillows were just a phone call away. Valet handled our bags and car beautifully. There’s coffee and tea to grab in the morning before a long day of shopping. Can’t wait to visit again.

I was really disappointed by how this was handled. In August 2025, I booked two rooms six months ahead for a wedding, then stayed overnight to check the accommodations for my elderly parents and family. The hotel was nicely fitted for younger guests, but it’s in the city with no convenient or free parking and isn’t good for a wheelchair. The bed was so uncomfortable that we fell into the middle. I asked the front desk attendant for a refund and was told absolutely, but then they found the reservation had gone through a third party. The third party said it would refund me after checking the hotel policy, but the manager refused because I’d booked at a discounted rate. If I’d known a $20 discount would affect refund options, I wouldn’t have booked here. I also find it hard to believe they couldn’t refill the room at a higher price, especially in the height of the season in February. I pleaded my case to the manager, Pia Brennan, but she wouldn’t refund me. In my opinion, a small hotel that relies on customer service and reputation should try to understand my situation with my elderly family and accommodate us. They could have rebooked it to other wedding guests in my party, but not at this point. The lack of clear communication and support felt unprofessional. Because of their rigidity, I won’t recommend this hotel to the wedding guests or anyone else.

The staff were amazing, 17 out of 10. Everyone was so sweet and answered our questions. After a K-pop concert, my friend and I stumbled in exhausted at 12:40 a.m. and asked the night desk man for ice. He went and brought a giant bucket up to our room. The location is perfect at the edge of downtown Winter Park, so you can walk down the street and see everything. Parking is a little odd, but there’s valet and a paid lot behind the hotel if, like me, you get anxious about silly things. Our room was perfectly fine: comfy as hell bed, working AC, and everything seemed clean and well cared for. The hotel’s older, which is part of its charm. We had a bare-bones room, and a little fridge would have been appreciated, even if that’s a bit snooty. The main drawbacks were thin walls, so my friend woke early to neighbors packing up and leaving, and you can hear just about everything on the floors. The bathroom also has no ventilation, so it gets hot and muggy after a shower. They provide earplugs, and you can leave the bathroom door open. Super cute hotel, and I’m glad we stayed.
