Breakfast and dinner are served family-style, so you get to meet other ski enthusiasts over a hearty meal. The TimberHouse ski lodge is family-run and relaxed, a great place for an authentic ski experience. Its rooms are all unique, and the well-worn halls have that real skier-era floor creak. The hospitality and cleanliness are the best you’ll ever experience. Well worth every dollar!
My girlfriends and I had a wonderful stay here last winter. We had our own room and bathroom, and breakfast and dinner were included in the nightly price. The college students working there were awesome. It felt like a five-star resort, but with an old-fashioned, homey feel. Meals are served communally, which gave me a chance to meet people from all over the country. The owner arranged ski rentals and rides to and from the slopes. We watched old movies in the evening, and there were hot tubs too. I’d highly recommend it!
Lunch isn’t provided, so you’ll need to head out for that. It wasn’t much of a problem for us since most people are up on the mountain. The cabin has a trail connection and there’s also a shuttle to and from it. It’s a cozy place with a bit of an old-fashioned feel.
I spent a month here three years ago. It was comfortable enough, affordable, and close to the slopes, though nothing especially memorable. They were closed by the 2018-19 season, and I haven’t seen any sign that they’ve reopened.
This place is used for Winter Park employees to stay during the season now. The public can’t stay here anymore.
